Farm journal, 1841-1843.

Plantation diary kept at "Coggin's Point," Prince George County, Va. The farm had been owned by his father Edmund Ruffin (1794-1865) and was renamed "Beechwood" by Edmund Ruffin, Jr. Ruffin divided his slaves into teams with different tasks. The journal mostly concerns crop tillage.
